Adam Milne

The sight of a New Zealand fast bowler firing down deliveries at over 150 kph warms the hearts of many Kiwi cricket fans and has become a regular occurrence since Adam Milne came onto the international scene in 2010.

A supremely talented athlete and an age grade rep footballer, Milne’s thrilling spells with the ball are matched by his impressive skills in the field, while he’s also a handy batsman down the order.

He made his international debut in a T20 against Sri Lanka in 2010 and has played roles in both white ball squads since. He was selected in his first World Cup squad for the 2012 T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka without featuring, and played an important role in the 2015 ICC World Cup in New Zealand and Australia,  before bowing out with injury after the quarter final.

Milne featured in T20 and ODI squads sporadically until 2018 before back injuries threatened to bring his international career to an end. But his strong form in domestic cricket and international leagues around the world saw him recalled to the BLACKCAPS T20 squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup squad as an injury replacement for Lockie Ferguson, helping the BLACKCAPS reach the final against Australia. Milne went on to also feature in the 2022 event in Australia.

Born in Palmerston north, Milne has played the majority of his domestic cricket for the Central Stags, but made the switch to the Wellington Firebirds ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Something of a T20 specialist, Milne has plied his trade in international leagues around the world, including the IPL for the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and, most recently, the Chennai Super Kings, and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred where he was the only bowler in the inaugural season of the competition to concede less than a run a ball.
