Well established as New Zealand's end-of-season tournament, the NZCT National Club Cricket Championship is a competition pitting each Major Association's overall top club of the season against each other to find the annual top club in New Zealand.
The competition is run and hosted by Auckland Cricket's Cornwall Cricket Club at the end of the season every year, usually in April, following the conclusion of the domestic calendar. The timing allows first-class and even international players to turn out for their club side.
This season, the format has changed to a T20 championship, to be held from 2 to 5 April, 2020 - after having been a one-day tournament in previous years.
Last season's Central Districts reps, Napier Technical Old Boys, defeated Christchurch's St Albans for the 2019 championship title. It was Napier Tech's second consecutive crown at the championship, and their third overall since a maiden effort in 2002/03.
