SCORECARD

In front of his home crowd, the 25-year-old Aucklander contributed 25 crucial runs and claimed two important wickets as the BLACKCAPS overcame their more fancied opponents by 22 runs in the second ODI.

Tim Southee put in a memorable performance, battling sickness and a mid-innings vomit, the senior paceman bowled his ten overs through the first half of the innnings finishing with 2-41 and the big scalp of Virat Kohli.

After earlier being asked to bat first, Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls put on another solid opening stand of 93, before Nicholls was dismissed for 41 in the 17th over.

Guptill was in fine touch and looked on course for a 17th ODI hundred before he was run-out on for a run-a-ball 79.

His wicket would trigger a collapse as six wickets fell for 40 runs, leaving Ross Taylor (73*) to rescue the innings with Jamieson.

The pair would put on a match-turning partnership of 76 runs in just 52 balls to get the total through to a middling 273-8.
