The Wellington Blaze have completely outclassed the Otago Sparks with a comprehensive nine wicket win at Molyneux Park, Alexandra.
Spinner Lucy Doolan and strike bowler Sophie Devine ensured the Blaze were chasing a small total as they ripped through the Sparks line up, having them all out in the 41st over for 120.
Devine knocked the top off the batting line up before Doolan took care of the middle and lower order as they returned three for 36 and four for 18 respectively.
Extra’s were the highest contributor on the scorecard with 28 and the highest score from the bat was by Claire Taylor who made 21.
Doolan completed a wonderful all round performance by blasting 62 off 69 with fellow opener Sarah Bradbury remaining unbeaten on 40.
The victory propels the Wellington Blaze to the top of the table after six rounds with previous leaders the Otago Sparks moving down to third.
