BLACKCAPS on the rise

The BLACKCAPS’ National Bank Test series victory over the West Indies has helped them improve their rating in the ICC Test Championship.

The BLACKCAPS move to 101 points and are now just seven points behind fourth-placed Pakistan, while the Caribbean side have lost one rating point and are now 25 points behind seventh-placed Sri Lanka.

Shane Bond remains in the top 10 in the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers, but has slipped two spots to number nine. Daniel Vettori (18th) is the other Kiwi in the world’s top 20.

Captain Stephen Fleming is the top-rated BLACKCAPS batsman, in 20th, moving up two positions despite not reaching the middle in Napier.

Nathan Astle is 26th and Scott Styris is 38th in that list.
