BLACKCAPS seek Trophy victory

The BLACKCAPS can claim the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy outright for the first time with victory over Australia at Eden Park.

Having tied the inaugural series in Australia and a defeat in last season’s edition on home soil, the Kiwis can take the silverware in Auckland.

James Franklin and Peter Fulton come into the match-day squad at the expense of Jeetan Patel and the injured Jacob Oram.

The tourists, currently enduring a rare lean streak, have had further ill fortune with injuries,

Michael Clarke is the latest tourist to return home, with a hip injury. Shaun Tait, who replaced Brett Lee, is expected to play.

The second ODI of the Chappell-Hadlee Series commences at 11am at Eden Park.

BLACKCAPS: Stephen Fleming (captain), Shane Bond, James Franklin, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Brendon McCullum (wicketkeeper), Craig McMillan, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori, Lou Vincent

Australia (from): MEK Hussey (captain), ML Hayden, PA Jaques, BJ Haddin, BJ Hodge, CL White, SR Watson, GB Hogg, NW Bracken, MG Johnson, GD McGrath, S Tait
