Cello Basin Reserve SOLD OUT for Australia

The Cello Basin Reserve is officially sold out more than a month in advance of the first Test between the BLACKCAPS and Australia in Wellington, starting February 29.

NZC confirmed all available tickets for the first four days of the Tegel Test series had been snapped up following unprecedented demand.

The second Test at Hagley Oval in Christchurch from March 8 is also heading for a sell-out with limited tickets remaining.

Wellington fans still have the chance to purchase tickets to see the BLACKCAPS this summer with the opening match of the KFC T20I series against Australia at Sky Stadium on Wednesday February 21, before the series moves to Auckland for the Eden Park double-header on Friday night (Feb 23) and Sunday afternoon (Feb 25).

NZC GM Commercial Chris Smith said the sales reflected the momentum in behind the BLACKCAPS this summer.

“Following four out of five sold-out matches for the Pakistan series, and the first game at Eden Park seeing 20,000 plus fans, it’s clear the fans are enjoying the product,” he said.

“A packed venue always creates a special atmosphere for fans and players alike, and I know it certainly gives our BLACKCAPS an edge as the home side.

“I'm sure with more full-houses in store, Kiwi fans will get to enjoy the game-day experience and all the drama and excitement an Australia series provides.

"Our message to the public is to get in quick to secure a ticket to the remaining matches."

Note: Day five Test tickets are only released if required at the end of the fourth day.
