New Zealand Women A squad announced

National Women's selectors Steve Jenkin, Penny Kinsella and Julie Harris have announced the New Zealand Women A squad for the forthcoming international series against the White Ferns and Australia Youth.

The squad is: Anna Dodd (captain; State Wellington Blaze), Katey Martin (vice-captain, State Otago Sparks), Rachel Candy (State Central Hinds), Amanda Cooper (State Wellington Blaze), Lucy Doolan (State Wellington Blaze), Ros Kember (State Auckland Hearts), Victoria Lind (State Auckland Hearts), Beth McNeill (State Canterbury Magicians), Zara McWilliams (State Central Hinds), Elizabeth Perry (State Wellington Blaze), Rachel Priest (State Central Hinds), Amy Satterthwaite (State Canterbury Magicians), Megan Wakefield (State Wellington Blaze).

White Fern Dodd, who is unavailable for the White Ferns' four-nation series in India, will captain the team.

Fellow White Fern Martin will act as vice-captain, with full internationals McNeill and Kember also included.

CD wicketkeeper Priest and Wellington batsmen Doolan and Wakefield have received their first international selections.

Former BLACKCAP Gary Stead will coach the squad, with ex-White Ferns Katrina Keenan and Kirsty Bond, the State Canterbury Wizards coach, as assistants.

The team convene at New Zealand Cricket's High Performance Centre at Lincoln ahead of a Twenty20 match (6 February) and two 50-over matches (7 & 9 February) against the White Ferns.

They then contest a three-match series against Australia Youth (13, 15 & 16 February) at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval.
