Rain ruins fourth match

Heavy rain destroyed any chance of a result in the fourth ODI between the BLACKCAPS and South Africa this morning when heavy rain hit Durban after just 20 overs had been bowled.

Before the heavens opened, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat. took the early wicket of AB de Villiers for six, while Graeme Smith got another start but was again unable to convert it into a big score. He was adjudged LBW to James Franklin for 22 with his team at two for 52.

The match was delicately poised when rain hit the ground after 20 overs. Jacques Kallis (24 not out) and Ashwell Prince (17 not out) had taken South Africa to 79 for two.

The result means Scott Styris must wait until the final match at Centurion on Sunday before attempting to take his 100th ODI wicket and become only the third New Zealander to complete the double of 100 ODI wickets and 2000 runs.
