Aimee Mason again showed her all-round talent as State Central Hinds enjoyed a 50-run win over State Northern Spirit.
Mason and youngster Kendra Cocksedge impressed with bat and ball to complete back-to-back wins over their neighbour at Palmerston North’s Fitzherbert Park.
After a delayed start, CD made 171 all out in very windy conditions. Mason made 39 and Nicole Thessman 33 as the home side went to 83 for 2.
However, after Mason was run out after a straight drive deflected off the bowler, CD collapsed to 102 for six.
Cocksedge (28) and fellow schoolgirl Kate Tunnicliffe (21) led the side back on track, pushing them to a healthy total.
Mason then took 3-30 and Cocksedge 2-32 as Northern were dismissed for 121.Zara McWilliams cleaned up the tail with balls wickets for no runs off five balls.
