Zimbabwe recall familiar faces

The Zimbabwe team to face the BLACKCAPS in Sunday's first Test will be quite different to the one that lost to Bangladesh earlier this year.

Following the end of the player dispute, former captain Heath Streak and all-rounder Andy Blignaut rejoined the Zimbabwe team on their recent tour to South Africa. They are joined in the squad for Sunday's Test by other recalled players Stuart Carlisle and Craig Wishart.

The team will be captained by Tatenda Taibu, who has not played against the BLACKCAPS in his 20 match Test career.

The bowling attack will be spearheaded by vice-captain Streak, who has taken 26 wickets against the New Zealanders in nine Tests at 34.15.

The batting line-up will be led by veterans Carlisle and Wishart, while opener Neil Ferreira is set to make his Test debut.

The Zimbabwe squad is: Tatenda Taibu (capt), Heath Streak, Andy Blignaut, Stuart Carlisle, Graeme Cremer, Keith Dabengwa, Dion Ebrahim, Neil Ferreira, Anthony Ireland, Blessing Mahwire, Hamilton Masakadza, Christopher Mpofu, Brendan Taylor, Craig Wishart.
